IndiGo announces entry into Myanmar; introduces Yangon as its 18th International destination

                                   Effective Seotember 20, IndiGo willoperate daily non-stop flight               on the Kolkata-Yangon route. Yangon will be IndiGo's 77th over all                               destination, with fares starting at Rs 5999.




 *    Looks Like IndiGo is Planning to develop Kolkata as a hub. Last month IndiGo announced                 flights on the Buddhist circuit connecting Gaya with kolkata and Varanasi. They even added an            additional frequency from kolkata to Varanasi and Patna. The flight is scheduled for august 8,           2019.




*    If you look at it, while there is only a3-hour halt at kolkata if one wants to travel from Hong               Kong to Gaya on IndiGo, the return journey involves a longer 6-hour halt. Also, it isn't possible
     to connect to Yangon from Gaya unless you are taking a day's halt in kolkata.






*    These new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on            the lookout for new and affordable flying option. Customers who wish to plan their travel can              book tickets via our official website www.goindigo.in. The introduction of these flights will                further strengthen the airline's operations and will provide connectivity between Kannur and                other domestic and International destinations with all-inclusive fares starting from INR-1299.



*    William Boulter, Chief Commercial Officer, IndiGo said, "In line with our international                        expansion Strategy, we are excited to announce Yangon as our new international destination.
      we see significant traffic coming from Yangon to the Buddhist cricuit there by enhancing                    ecomomic growth and tourism in India. This new route will strengthen the cultural relationship 
      Between the two countries and will boost trade, tourism and mobility".




*   Mr. Boulter further added, "IndiGo will continue to expand its network to meet the requirements        of both business and leisure travellers whereven they demand it. IndiGo will Continue to offer its       Customer on-time, courteous and hassle-free Service, and an affordable flying experience always".
