IndiGo announces entry into Myanmar; introduces Yangon as its 18th International destination
Effective Seotember 20, IndiGo willoperate daily non-stop flight on the Kolkata-Yangon route. Yangon will be IndiGo's 77th over all destination, with fares starting at Rs 5999.
* Looks Like IndiGo is Planning to develop Kolkata as a hub. Last month IndiGo announced flights on the Buddhist circuit connecting Gaya with kolkata and Varanasi. They even added an additional frequency from kolkata to Varanasi and Patna. The flight is scheduled for august 8, 2019.
* If you look at it, while there is only a3-hour halt at kolkata if one wants to travel from Hong Kong to Gaya on IndiGo, the return journey involves a longer 6-hour halt. Also, it isn't possible
to connect to Yangon from Gaya unless you are taking a day's halt in kolkata.
* These new flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying option.
