Boos aimed at Virat Kohli have been intensifying at Australian grounds this summer, and now, Cricket Australia chief kevin Roberts has weighed in on the behaviour.
Booing of Virat Kohil has concerned new Cricket Australia chief kevin Roberts who has called on fans to show the visiting captain respect.
A handful of boos has followed Kohli during the four Test series against Australia. but they strengthened into a chorus following his tense showdown with Tim Perth.
Kohli was most recently booed at the SCG as the walked to the crowd's behaviour on Friday, telling SEN Test Cricket: ''I don't like seeing that.
''We talk about when we play the game, making Australians proud, we talk about the fact that our goal is to win and will always be to win, but our non-negotiable expectation is to compete with honour.
''I would urge our fans to support the game with honour.
''The game is bigger than all of us, we need to respect our visitors, give them the best possible experince of visiting our country, and then hoprfully best them on the field.
''We need to go about this with respect, whether we are a player, an adminisrator, a fan, broadcaster, whatever our role is in Australian cricket.
''Respect is just a really core foundation of the game and it's part of the reason we love the game and hopefully we can see evident in all aspcts of the game.
